Adventures in Idaho
July 2000
by Maurice Lambert

This story is a composite of two trips to southwestern Idaho. I’ve combined two visits to help me catch up on the tales of our travels. This will bring together our activities in the Boise area and side trips we took while visiting the Treasure Valley.

Come along with us as we visit some backcountry places in Idaho. We also get to experience an old fashioned Independence Day parade. We were kept busy on this trip, had a lot of fun, and still had time to rest and relax. Our trip ended with us arriving at our July RV club outing a day early. Some of our friends were waiting for us when we arrived. So, this was a very nice way to end out vacation trip to Idaho.

Even though the weekend was not officially part of our vacation, it gave us the feeling that we had a double vacation trip. On Saturday night I got caught up in the live music in the casino lounge. I especially enjoyed the music of a new group called the "Pocket City Band" featuring Kat Wilson as lead singer. They perform in the Greater Reno area. I stayed up later than normal grooving to their music.

The trip over the Sierras seemed shorter than normal when we headed for home on Sunday. I think the trip seems shorter now because we’ve made the trip often enough that the route is like a long commute. It was good to get home. However, I was ready to get right back on the road. This had been a double good RV Fun Trip.
